Sean Sweat

Planning & Transportation

Sean is a supply chain manager at Intel Corporation who chose to live here in the Pearl District due to its walkability and easy access to both transit and nature. His interest in transportation networks surfaced when he moved to NYC to study industrial engineering at Columbia University, which then led him to MIT to study transportation in more depth. While living in Phoenix, he founded Phoenix's first urbanist organization (the Urban Phoenix Project) and led various municipal committees. Here in Portland, he has been the vice chair of PBOT's budget advisory committee. In our neighborhood but also more broadly, he strives to promote housing abundance and robust transportation options. He is also learning Japanese (でも彼はまだとても下手です) and is at nearly every Thorns game dutifully complaining about the refs.
