Basic NET Training Returns to the West Side: Registration Now Open!

Portland residents looking to make a difference in their community during emergencies have a golden opportunity as the Neighborhood Emergency Team (NET) announces the opening of registrations for Basic NET Training (BNT) sessions. The cohort can accommodate up to 100 applicants and is scheduled to take place from July 29 to August 13 at a downtown location, with Final Field Exercises set to be held at the Fire & Rescue Training Center on August 19 and 20.

After a prolonged hiatus due to the pandemic, the NET program is thrilled to be offering Basic NET classes on the west side once again. The comprehensive training equips volunteers with essential skills and knowledge to assist their neighborhoods during emergencies and disasters.

Aspiring NET members are required to start the process by completing the application form, which can be accessed via the official website: https://www.portland.gov/pbem/neighborhood-emergency-teams/volunteer. Once the application is submitted, applicants will be able to schedule their attendance in the upcoming Basic NET Training cohort. The specific location of the training will be disclosed only to registered participants.

Don't miss this opportunity to become a crucial part of Portland's emergency response network. Apply now to join the Basic NET Training and make a difference in your community when it matters most!
