PDNA Townhall Recap + Video

Dear Pearl District Supporters,
Thank you to everyone who showed up and made Monday night’s Town Hall such a powerful moment for our community. With 580 of us in the room, we sent a clear, united message to the Mayor and city officials: the Pearl District is engaged, paying attention, and ready to stand up for what matters.
Our fight isn’t over. If the Northrup Shelter moves forward, we will hold the City to its promises. Accountability is non-negotiable. The only thing worse than a shelter in the Pearl is a shelter that fails in the Pearl — and we will not let that happen.
A special thank you to Portland Center Stage for their incredible generosity in providing the venue and staffing at no cost. They opened their doors and welcomed our neighborhood in, no questions asked. That kind of community spirit deserves our support. If you can, please consider donating — they, like so many, are struggling, and we need to show them they matter to us. https://www.pcs.org/
I know many of you left feeling disappointed by the Mayor’s and City officials’ responses. I understand — and you’re not alone. But this is only the beginning. Real change takes persistence. And while we hold our leaders accountable, we must also recognize those who showed up: Mayor Wilson, Solutions Director Brocker Knapp, Commander Hughes, and the District 4 Councilors. Showing up matters — and so does continuing this dialogue.
Let’s keep the momentum going. This is our neighborhood, and our voices will be heard.
Sincerely,
Bruce Studer, PDNA President
