CALL TO ACTION: Protect Pearl District Clean-Up & Safety Services
📅 Wednesday, November 12, 2025 – 9:30 AM
📍 Portland City Council Meeting (In Person or Virtual)
🗣️ MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD
Portland City Council will vote this Wednesday on Councilor Morillo’s proposal to cut $4.3 million from the Impact Reduction Program — the City’s main response team handling street camps, debris, and public safety across our neighborhoods.
If this funding is cut, tents will still be posted for removal — but no one will show up to move them.
The City will still be legally required to clear sidewalks under the ADA settlement, but without staff or resources, it simply can’t happen.
💡 THE FACTS
- 2,011 camps moved in 3 months
- 8,300 camps cleared in the past year
- 3.5 million pounds of garbage collected (July–Nov 2)
- 100+ individuals in recovery could lose their jobs
Cutting this budget doesn’t stop the problem — it stops the response.
