200-Bed Shelter in the Pearl District – Your Voice Is Needed

200-Bed Shelter in the Pearl District – Your Voice Is Needed

Dear Neighbors,

The City of Portland recently announced plans to open a 200-bed low-barrier, overnight-only homeless shelter at 1465 NW Northrup (corner of 15th & Northrup, across from LA Fitness)—without any consultation from neighborhood associations or affected stakeholders.

Key Details:

  • Location: Former Regus Office Sharing site at 1465 NW Northrup

  • Hours of Operation: 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM

  • Entry: Lines may begin forming at 7:00 PM

  • Services: No food provided; a light snack (e.g., cheese sticks) is offered upon entry

  • Daytime Discharge: All individuals must leave by 6:00 AM, with no provisions for daytime shelter

This decision is moving forward quickly, and community input is urgently needed to ensure the voices of Pearl District residents and businesses are heard.
