VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteer at CoHo Theater

roductions Volunteer Opportunities Did you know that you can have all kinds of volunteer opportunities with CoHo Productions? You don’t have to be a graduate in theater arts to contribute to the growth and well-being of CoHo. Every little bit helps and you can be part of the CoHo family, which is a vital participant in the Portland arts community. Here are just a few examples of what you can do:

Ushering, of course. Before, during and after the show, you can welcome CoHo patrons. AND, you get to see the show free of charge!

Telemarketing campaign for the months of August and September, CoHo Productions needs volunteers to call our Subscribers from previous seasons to tell them about our new season and ensure they have received their 2007-08 brochure. This is a chance to challenge your communication and phone skills and help CoHo with one of the most vital jobs this season.

Office support, for those of you who are computer users and those of you who like to organize and maintain files day and early evening slots available.

Backstage, you can help prepare props, build sets, paint sets, maintain costumes, and help strike sets. We are continuing our 24 Hour Plays this season so sign up to work all night on the most exciting and rewarding production in Portland!,p>Facilities maintenance, for those of you who are handy. Help keep the CoHo Theater in tip-top form on a regular basis. This could be as easy as changing a light bulb to cleaning the stage floor.

Web Design and Computer Repair for those of you who have computer skills and want to help redesign our website or computer maintenance.

Cleaning, for those who like to clean the both offices and the theater.

College Credit for those of you who are a college student who need a few credits this year we have positions in computer repair, arts administration, web design and production crew.>p>Go to admin@cohoproductions.org for infomation.


Neighborhood Net Team (NET)

The NET team is trained by the fire department to react to local disasters. This team has nine members and meets monthly. The PDNA's goal is to have a NET team member in every building ready and able to guide neighbors, turn off utilities, and help in case of earthquake, chemical spill or other disaster. Gardners Wanted

Have you moved to the Pearl and left your garden behind? You can still digin the dirt by joining the River District Community Garden, located on NW 16th between Johnaon and Kearney. Talk to a gardener there or contact the Zimmerman Community Center 503-224-4636. A second opportunity is to help groom Tanner Springs Park on the third Sunday of the month from 9-11. Tools and instructions are provided. See calendar for contact information.


Drivers Needed

NWPM is seeking drivers for their service to elderly and disabled persons in NW Portland. Call 503-413-5529 if you have a free time to give to this importand ministry. You may drive a NWPM van or your personal vehicle. In addition, people are needed to help with the five day feeding program by Wheels on Meals at the First Immanuel Lutheran Church at NW Irving and 19th.


PDNA Activities

The Pearl District Neighborhood Association is always looking for interested persons who will help carry on the activities of the neighborhood. If you are interested in Good Neighbor Agreements, graffiti, safety issues, more trash cans in the area, noise issues, tree planting, and other livability issues there is a place for you.
