Concerned citizens are organizing to ensure ongoing safety, health, and livability in the Pearl. There will be a general safety meeting, led by the Office of Neighborhood Involvement, for all residents of the Pearl District in January.

There will be two ways to participate: a neighborhood watch or a foot patrol. Training is provided for each option stressing best practices and how to stay safe.

The Neighborhood Watch Program brings people together, creating a shared vision of community safety. Neighborhood watch meetings typically occur annually and offer information about safely responding to an issue that concerns them and which agencies to contact.

A Foot Patrol is a group of volunteers who walk their neighborhood streets and parks to deter crime and report problems. According to the availability of participants, patrols might be scheduled once a week, every two weeks or monthly for a 45 minute to an hour walk.

Please join us to ensure a safe and beautiful 2015 in the Pearl.
