Broadway Bridge closed Sunday

Posted By johntarantino1 on March 16, 2010

The Broadway Bridge will be closed to all users on Sunday, March 21 from 8:00 am until as late as 5:00 pm. The closure will allow staff to measure structural steel components that will be replaced during the upcoming Portland Streetcar Loop Project. The lift span will be in the open position during the work. During the closure TriMet’s 9-Broadway bus line will be re-routed across the Steel Bridge. The work will not impact river traffic.

Alternate routes for bicyclists and pedestrians include the Steel and Burnside bridges. Drivers can also use the Fremont Bridge during the closure. Multnomah County maintains the Broadway and five other Willamette River bridges and 300 miles of roads. For more information on the Broadway Bridge closure visit the Multnomah County Bridge website.
